Children look onto the polluted war supply at a former vacation resort in Shalalat, Iraq, now home to Arabs who were expelled by returning Kurds from the villages of Sheikhan, Kiskala, and Neynoa. The Kurds were expelled by the government of Saddam Hussein, and the Arabs were given their fields and houses. After the US/UK invasion of Iraq, the Kurds were able to return to their lands in the areas formerly governed by Hussein.
